Most visitors park downtown and walk to Circle Park. 18 cans ride on your back.
Where the party is
Knoxville tailgates on land and on the water. Circle Park and the Humanities Plaza fill up on campus, and across Neyland Drive the Vol Navy ties up at the docks, a tradition UT dates to 1962.
The water
The Vol Navy
UT traces it to 1962, when broadcaster George Mooney boated to the game to skip the traffic. The 2026 parking map marks the boat docks across Neyland Drive from the stadium.
The moment
Circle Park and the Vol Walk
About 2 hours before kickoff the team leaves the Torchbearer statue, walks Peyton Manning Pass and turns up Phillip Fulmer Way to Gate 21A. Circle Park also holds reserved tailgate tents.

Volunteer Village

UT flips some traffic patterns after the game to clear campus. Your options, best first:
- Ride the KAT shuttle back. Return buses leave Walters Life Sciences from the start of the 4th quarter until about an hour after the game.
- Walk back downtown. Downtown garages are the official fallback for fans without a pass. Walk back and let campus empty first.
- Follow the officers. Neyland Drive runs three lanes west toward Alcoa Highway, I-40 and Kingston Pike, with the far left lane an express to Kingston Pike.

Call a ride from the Hill at the final whistle. Along with half the stadium.
First time here?
- Be on Peyton Manning Pass by 2 hours 15 minutes before kickoff for the Vol Walk. Visit Knoxville says it currently starts then; UT's timeline says about 2 hours.
- With kids? Look for Volunteer Village, UT's free pregame fan experience, and for Smokey, Tennessee's bluetick coonhound mascot, near the park and the village, Visit Knoxville advised in 2026.
