Quick answers
What time do the Duke lots open?
On Saturdays, Iron Duke lots open at 6 a.m. and the Jogging Trail and Chemistry lots at 7 a.m. Other free lots and garages open later, 3 to 5 hours before kickoff depending on the lot. Weeknight games open at 5 p.m. Check Duke's alert for each game.
Can you grill at Duke tailgates?
Yes. Propane and charcoal grills are allowed if you attend them the whole time. Put charcoal out fully with water and dump it in the containers by the portable restrooms. Open-flame fires, including fire pits, are banned.
Can you drink at Duke tailgates?
Duke's rule is to follow federal, state and local alcohol laws, so 21 and over. Guests who look impaired can be turned away at the gate, and outside alcohol can't go into the stadium.
Do you need a ticket to tailgate at Duke?
Not to park. General public parking is free for regular-sized vehicles in designated lots. Iron Duke lots need a game-day permit, and everyone needs a ticket for the stadium.
How do you park at Duke?
Free, in color-coded general public lots: walk from the Pink, Purple or Green zones, or ride the courtesy shuttle from the Yellow Zone GC and H lots. Iron Duke permits come through the Iron Duke office, and RVs buy a permit for the GC Lot.
