Where the party is

Tulane puts its whole tailgate on one lawn instead of spreading it across parking lots. The Berger Family Lawn has a stage, a live band most Saturdays, and a free first-come section for anyone with a 10 x 10.

The main lawn

What to eat

Getting out

Uptown streets are narrow and campus roads are closed on game day. Your options, best first:

  1. Take the shuttle back. Shuttles return to the Ursuline and St. Rita lots from the hub on S. Claiborne Ave.
  2. Walk to rideshare on S. Claiborne. That's the official pick-up spot. Don't wait for a car on campus.
  3. Let traffic control lift. Police release traffic about 90 minutes after the game, and lots stay open 2 hours after.
  4. Skip this

Leave the second it ends. Into closed roads and a neighborhood full of cars.

First time here?

  • Tailgating is on the Berger Family Lawn only, not at your car.
  • It runs from 4 hours before kickoff to 30 minutes before. Nothing during the game.
  • Propane grill only, up off the ground. No glass, no kegs.
  • Bring weights for your 10 x 10 tent. No stakes.
  • Loyola garages take cards only, and there's no shuttle from them.
  • Clear bag only, and no re-entry.

Visiting? How to join a tailgate

The Lawn is open to all fans, alumni and students, so start there. Bring something to share and say hello before you step into a setup.
