On Thanksgiving, some families are in the AT&T Stadium lots by 5:45 a.m., having eaten their turkey the day before so they can spend the holiday at the tailgate. The crowd is huge and the space is tight, so the scarce thing here is a spot, not company. Plenty of the pregame happens at Miller LiteHouse on the west plaza, with the drumline and cheerleaders, or across the road at Texas Live!, where families pregame under the big board. A good share of the lot wears the other team's jersey, because everybody wants to see this building once, and one Cowboys blogger who has tailgated at eight NFL stadiums still calls this crowd the most pleasant.

The lot answer

Cowboys tailgates live on the grass spaces along the edges of AT&T Stadium's Lots 4 to 7 and 10 to 15; Lots 3, 8 and 9 and part of Lot 5 are parking only. The pass gets your car in, but the grass spots go first come, first served, so the first crew there picks. RV crews can stay overnight for most events in Silver Lot 14.

Quick answers

What time do the AT&T Stadium lots open?

Generally 5 hours before Cowboys games. The Cowboys post each game's lot time on their Know Before You Go page.

Can you grill at AT&T Stadium?

Yes, charcoal or gas, in a tailgating space. No deep fryers, no oil cooking, no open-flame fires. Coals go in the coal containers around the lots, never on the grass, the pavement or under a car.

Can you drink at Cowboys tailgates?

The parking rules don't address alcohol. Inside, it's 2 drinks per transaction, and sales stop at the start of the 4th quarter.

Do you need a ticket to tailgate?

The stadium's rules don't say. You do need a parking pass for your lot, and tailgating happens only in the designated grass spaces.

How do you buy parking?

Online through SeatGeek, linked from the stadium's parking page. Parking is cashless, like everything else at the stadium.

The game-day timeline

Where to park

Buy the pass ahead, then get there early. A pass gets your car in; the grass tailgating spots are first come, first served.

Parking spaces are for cars. Tents, grills and chairs go on the grass behind your car, not in the next space.
Grass past the designated spaces is common ground, open to anyone for tailgating or a picnic.
No car? Rideshare drops off and picks up in Lot 15. Taxis stage off North Collins Street and Cowboys Way.

Where the party is

Arlington gives you a long runway: lots open 5 hours out, and the grills can stay lit until 2 hours after the game. The catch is space. Every setup lives on a strip of grass behind a car, so build up, not out.

The official pregame

Miller LiteHouse

The stadium's own pregame spot, outside the west end, opens 3 to 4 hours before kickoff depending on the start time. Bring your game ticket; you need it to get in.

The grass edges

Lots 10 to 15

Six tailgating lots ring the west and south sides, from Lot 10 by the stadium to Lot 15 across Collins Street.

The overnighter

Silver Lot 14

The RV lot. Pull in the day before and stay through the day after, for most events.

What to eat

Inside, the 2026 menu leans on Texas barbecue: the Kraft BBQ DCQ stuffs a grilled jalapeño cheese sausage, the stadium's mac and cheese and chopped brisket into a hoagie, and the Texas BBQ Doritos Loaded piles house-smoked brisket, cheese sauce, pickles and coleslaw onto chips. The old standbys are still around, too: the Cowboys Cheesesteak, the Lineman Burrito and the Rowdy Dog.

Getting out

Everybody wants Randol Mill Road at once. Your options, best first:

  1. Stay and eat. Tailgating runs until 2 hours after the game. Finish the food while the lots drain.
  2. Rideshare from Lot 15. Off Randol Mill Road and Web Street. Expect a wait right after the game.
  3. Grab a cab. Taxis stage off North Collins Street and Cowboys Way.
  4. Skip this

Pull out at the final whistle. Bring a podcast. A long one.

First time here?

  • Buy parking on SeatGeek before game day.
  • Tickets are mobile only, in the Cowboys app. Screenshots and PDFs don't scan.
