Why we picked it

Watch the burgers cook without lifting the lid.

Two stainless burners put out 15,000 BTU across 200 square inches of grate. Monument's spec sheet puts that at 10 burgers at a time.

The lid has Monument's Clearview window and a thermometer, so you check the food without letting the heat out. It locks shut for the ride and carries by the front handle.

A hose for a 20 lb tank comes with it. Rather run the little 1 lb bottles? That takes Monument's 1 lb adapter, sold separately or in the bundle.

How it works in the lot

Tank. Knob. Burgers.

  1. Hook up the tank.

    The included hose runs to a 20 lb tank. Use 1 lb bottles with Monument's adapter.

  2. Light it, preheat it.

    Push and turn a knob. Monument says about 15 minutes, lid closed, gets it to 500°F.

  3. Cook it, watch it.

    Check the burgers through the lid window. Flip when they're ready, not when you're curious.

Get it if

You cook for the crew and want real grill marks, not a hibachi.

Skip it if

You don't need the window in the lid. The Monument 13742 is the same grill for $30 less.

Will this tabletop gas grill run on a 1 lb tank?

Yes, with Monument's 1 lb tank adapter (model 99000), sold separately or in the 3-piece bundle. Out of the box it comes with a hose for a 20 lb tank.

What's the difference between the G22 and the 13742?

The G22 has a window in the lid and black side panels, and costs $30 more. Burners, BTU, cooking area and grates are the same, per Monument.

How heavy is it?

32 lbs, per Monument. The lid locks for the ride, it carries by the front handle, and Monument says it fits in a car trunk.
