Most people buy the cooler for the crew and forget the walk. You park, look across at the stadium, and your spot looks close. Then you're carrying a full hard cooler across two rows of trucks and a grass median, and you find out what a full 50 quarts weighs. Count heads, sure. But pace off the walk from the car to your spot first, because that's the decision most people get wrong.
Every setup here cooks on the same grill, the Monument G22 ($199), a two-burner that fits on a tailgate and turns off at a knob when it's time to walk in. Bring the tongs and the spatula from your kitchen. What changes from setup to setup is how many cans you keep cold, and how they get from the car to the spot.
| Setup | The walk | Cold | Haul | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Grill Captain | Parked at your spot | Taiga 27, about 24 cans | Your hands | $417.98 |
| The Host | Across the lot | Cordova 50 Outpost, 63 cans, on wheels | Luxel CEC-2BR wagon | $797.34 |
| The Whole Lot | The far lot | Dubler bar + Taiga 55 backstock, about 84 cans | Luxel 500W wagon | $1,156.73 |
The Grill Captain: $417.98
For the guy who's at the grill by nine and hasn't sat down by kickoff. Somebody else owns the chairs. He parks at the spot, so nothing has to roll: the G22, a Taiga 27 ($199) that fits the trunk and doubles as his seat when he finally sits, and two rubs so the burgers and the wings don't taste the same: World Spice KC Tailgater's ($9.99) on the burgers, Butcher BBQ Honey ($9.99) on the chicken.

The Host: $797.34
For the spot everyone walks over to, which is never the one next to the car. The G22; a Cordova 50 Outpost ($379.49), the hard cooler built to be pulled instead of carried; a Luxel CEC-2BR wagon ($189) for the grill and the rest, whose top turns into the serving table once you're set up; and Revo's light-up ice cubes ($29.85), so people can find the cooler after dark.
The Whole Lot: $1,156.73
For the season-ticket crew that parks in the far lot because it's the only place with room for all of them. Two coolers with two jobs: a Revo Dubler ($169.89) on the tailgate as the bar, with cans on one side and the dip on the other, and a Taiga 55 ($299) behind it as the backstock. A Luxel 500W ($449), built for grass and gravel, hauls both, plus the G22, the KC rub and the light-up cubes.

Before you order
- Check your stadium first. Grill and propane rules vary by lot. Look yours up in the tailgating rules by stadium before game day.
- The G22 doesn't come with a tank. It has a hose for a 20 lb tank; for 1 lb bottles you need Monument's adapter, sold separately.
- Already have a piece. If you already own one of these, add the setup and delete that line in the cart.
- The boxes come separately. Every item ships from its own maker, so a setup can arrive in several boxes on different days.
None of these is exactly what's in our truck. That list is shorter, and it's here.
